Privacy Policy for FlowBar

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Overview

FlowBar ("the app", "we", "our") is a macOS menu bar productivity app. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Short version: FlowBar stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal information.

Data We Collect

FlowBar does not collect any personal data. The app operates entirely on your device.

The following information is stored locally on your Mac only:

Data Where stored Purpose
Task titles and notes Application Support (JSON files) Core app functionality
Task completion history Application Support (JSON files) History and Focus Stats
Pomodoro session count UserDefaults Daily progress tracking
App preferences (theme, timer duration, etc.) UserDefaults Personalization
Pro purchase status StoreKit / UserDefaults Unlocking Pro features
Panel window position UserDefaults Remembering your layout

None of this data ever leaves your device.

In-App Purchases

FlowBar offers a one-time FlowBar Pro purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store / StoreKit. We do not see, store, or process any payment information. Apple handles all billing. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple processes purchase data.

Notifications

FlowBar may send local notifications (e.g., Pomodoro timer complete). These are generated on your device and are never transmitted to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in System Settings → Notifications → FlowBar.

macOS Shortcuts Integration

FlowBar optionally integrates with the macOS Shortcuts app to enable Focus Mode (Do Not Disturb) toggling. This uses a local URL scheme (shortcuts://) and runs entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers.

No Third-Party Analytics or Tracking

FlowBar does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or tracking frameworks. We have no visibility into how you use the app.

No Account Required

FlowBar does not require you to create an account. No email address, name, or any other identifying information is ever requested or collected.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any data — because we do not collect any.

Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored in your Mac's Application Support folder and UserDefaults. To delete all data:

  1. Quit FlowBar.
  2. Delete the app from your Applications folder.
  3. Remove the app data folder: ~/Library/Application Support/FlowBar/
  4. Remove preferences: open Terminal and run defaults delete com.kmino.FlowBar

Children's Privacy

FlowBar does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy in a material way (e.g., if a future version adds network features), we will update the "Last updated" date above and note the changes in the App Store release notes.
